There was a band concert given every Sunday evening during the 1940s and 1950s by the town band.  After the high school band was organized, the town band (known as the Willsboro Military Band) became known as the Summer Band, which was composed of players from neighboring towns, as well as local members.

The bandstand was deeded from the town of Willsboro to the Willsboro Central School on July 23, 1985, and was subsequently repaired by volunteer Roger Blanchard and his daughter Robin.

On May 16, the Willsboro School Board approved the transfer of the bandstand back to the town, and it has since been rebuilt.
