Congratulations on taking this first step to improve your mental health! Our vision is to be a trusted health leader by strengthening, healing and empowering our community members.

Registration Steps:

Registration is available in the following ways:

  • Walk-In Registration: Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 7513 Court Street, Elizabethtown, New York
  • Mail-In Registration: Review and complete the packet information and mail to P.O. Box 8, Elizabethtown, New York 12932, or return the completed forms to the Essex County Mental Health reception desk.

Please refer to the checklist in the packet and review the packet information. Feel free to call us at 518-873-3670 for assistance with completing and/or returning the forms.

Our support staff will call to set up your first appointment once we have received and processed the completed documents. During your first session, you will meet with a clinician for approximately one hour. Sessions will be conducted either in-person or via telehealth (for example, by Zoom or phone).

Essex County Mental Health provides an accessible and safe pathway to emotional, behavioral, physical and psychological health and well-being to all clients and families. We strive to create a customized plan of treatment to address your needs with your collaboration, and community partners. Our purpose is to create a warm and compassionate environment where you will feel accepted, cared for, and comfortable expressing yourself. You can expect to be treated with respect and dignity by all staff, both administrative and clinical. We strive to provide the highest quality care possible and encourage you to let us know if you are not satisfied with our services or have any concerns or suggestions about your treatment.

We understand that asking for help can be a difficult choice and many people are hesitant to seek counseling. You are making the choice to pursue a path of wellness and recovery intended to strengthen your health and emotional well-being.
